I’m Adam,
This summer, I’m bikepacking 7,000km through Europe, north to south. I’m documenting the adventure with a camera on Instagram and words below. You can also find some conversations with other people on big journeys under the ”pod” tab.
Day 37: Paris to Orléans | 125km
After saying goodbye to Irene in Paris, it was time to begin the next chapter of the journey alone as I rode south towards Orléans.
Day 36: Paris | 0km
After nearly two weeks of riding every day, an unexpected rest day in Paris was exactly what I needed. It gave us a chance to recover, explore the city at a slower pace, and enjoy a few of the simple comforts that are easy to miss while being on the road.
Day 35: Noyon to Paris | 130km
After weeks of cycling across Europe, every destination has in one way or another felt like a milestone, but few compare to rolling into Paris.
Day 33: Bruges - Lille - Plouvain | 121km
Day 33 took us 121 km from Bruges to Lille, through industrial edges and into the lively heart of a French city.
Day 32: Kamperland to Bruges, Belgium | 68km
Our final ride through the Netherlands, a cool and cloudy 68 km to Bruges, Belgium, where fries and waffles awaited
Day 31: Gouda to Kamperland | 110km
Day 31 brought us from Gouda to Kamperland, 110 km of farmyard wake-ups, industrial Rotterdam, and a spectacular ride across the Eastern Scheldt Storm Surge Barrier.
Day 30: Elburg to Gouda | 117km
A stormy night gave way to a cooler ride through small towns and Utrecht before camping near cows and feuding ducks at a farm in Gouda.
Day 29: Emmen to Elburg | 98km
A 98km ride through the Dutch countryside, battling heat and fatigue, an ostrich-donkey-deer trio, and a stop in Zwolle.
Day 28: Oldenburg, Germany to Emmen, the Netherlands | 118km
A brutal 118km ride under a relentless heatwave, featuring a Britney Spears singalong, a canal side grind, and a late lunch revival before rolling into Emmen.
Day 27: Hipstedt to Oldenburg | 80km
A misty, hot morning escape from a creepy campsite led to an 80km ride through cornfields and villages, a tumble, and a joyful reunion with an old friend in lively Oldenburg.
Day 26: Fockbek to Hipstedt (sort of) | 130km
A grueling 130km ride through scorching heat, scenic canals, and cornfields, ending with a cold sink shower and noisy ducks at an eerily quiet campsite.
Day 25: Haderslev to Fockbek | 120km
Saying goodbye to a wonderful few days in Denmark, entering Germany, and enjoying the shifting scenery.
Day 23: Øster Hurup to Silkborg | 110km
Falling in love with Danish landscapes, reunion with an old friend, and blue skies.
Day 22: Göteborg - Fredrikshavn - Øster Hurup | 85km
Midsummer morning, a near-miss ferry, and the quiet joy of rediscovering the road with company.
Day 21: Lidköping to Göteborg | 138km
The final stretch of Sweden, trying to outrun nature, and the strange feeling of returning home.
Day 20: Åtorp to Lidköping | 115km
A morning by the lake and the feeling of endless summer.
Day 18: Falun to Kopparberg | 120km
Forests with no end in sight, questions, and the negotiation between comfort and adventure.
